Rain rain go away..

..come again another day

I hate waking up to such crap weather. I mean, don't get me wrong, I adore the rain. I just don't want to wake up to an ugly gray, pouring rain kinda day. Especially when I have to go to school, AND the Doctor. Two things which I don't really like doing. Ah well.

So remember I posted on my last entry that my aunt was taking me somewhere on Saturday night, but she wouldn't tell me what it was going to be? Well, turns out that she bought me, my brother, and my cousin tickets to the Queen - It's a kind of Magic tribute show at the Hummingbird. It was so cool! They played all the favourites, and yeah.. it was just a great show. I think my brother enjoyed it, too, which is rare, because he doesn't really like going out that much. Or to shows, anyway. And by shows, I do mean musicals, as he's never been to a ROCK show. This was his first. Aw. I have to take him to one. I hope he won't find it weird, though-- going to a rock show with his boring sister. Hmm..

edit: I just re-read my last entry.. and realised I didn't actually write that my aunt was taking me somewhere on Saturday night. But yeah. So now you know it was supposed to be a suprise!

Pin-up girl

Winter here already?

Why is it snowing before Halloween? And whyyy is it so cold? It's only the beginning of October! The 13th, to be exact. Friday the 13th! Dun dun dunnnnn.

See, it's supposed to start getting cold after october 31st, so that kids like me can have a cool halloween! I mean, come on- how am I going to dress up as a sexy nurse if it's ZERO degrees outside? I'll freeze my knickers off!
Stupid weather.

In better news, I'm going to a concert tonight. The Hardcore Riots. Yay. I haven't been to a concert (that wasn't my work) in ages!

I have a very busy weekend ahead of me, though, which kind of sucks. I have to work tomorrow morning (9:45! EEP!), and then again at the same time on Sunday, and then work a double shift. I'm also SUPPOSED to go to Kitchener for a second family thanksgiving dinner, but I'm not going to make it because of stupid work. Oh well. MONEY!
And my mother is in Montreal this weekend, but can I throw a party? No. I have absolutely no time. GAH!

Oh well.

Change?

Hello there, LJ world.
I'm (kinda) back. Er.. and there's change! Yep. I just re-did the look of my journal. Or rather.. I let LJ change my journal by pressing a few buttons. I also wanted to try plus, so that's why there are a few ads on the page. Heh.

Update.

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness what an awesome two days. Higher Level (rave) was fuckin' amazing. I had such a good time- met awesome new people, saw awesome old people, danced to awesome happy hardcore and much more awesome music, and holy shit- it was just a blast. And someone even took pictures, and posted them on the net! Wanna see? Come on, you know you want to.

Clicky-clicky

All in all, a great night, great party, and if you click on the link you can even see three pictures with me in it! Haha, yay!
Awesome sleepovers followed with Em, Buni, and Jess(we didn't leave until 2:45.. yeah, kinda early, but my mom wanted me home by 3.. and yet we didn't get home until 4 because we got off at the wrong stop, and then had to walk all the way back!.. and it was a long walk.).

Next day was the hop, and Em, Buni, Jess and Piffin all came to my house, we consumed some alcohol, and then walked to the Hop (or "recess"). It kind of sucked- the hop has really left 5ive. Which is unfortunate. There were really old people there (25ish), and there were many, many straight people, and a LOT of them were guys. WTF. So Kevin and I waltzed to techno music, and I must say that was a great experience. Everyone should try waltzing to techno music once in their life.
We only stayed for about 2 hours, because Em wanted to go to a rave at Cherry Beach- so we did! And I must say I enjoyed the rave a LOT more than I did the "hop". Although it took us an hour and a half to walk from 5ive to cherry beach. It is really nice to walk along the waterfront at night, though. Heh.

And that was just a little update into my life.

National Women's day!

Happy International Women's Day, everyone! Show the women that you love some support! Yay women!

..yeah, not too sure what you're supposed to do on women's day except for be happy that you're a woman (if you ARE a woman, that is.. and if you're not.. well, that's cool, too)..

But have a good Women's day anyway! And hey, at least there IS a national women's day. That's cool.

p.s. I went to the doctor today to check out my cold that I've had now for 3 (THREE!) weeks, and she didn't know what was wrong, either. I either have Nasal Drip virus, or a weird form of Strep Throat.

worst day

So I was just having the worst fucking day ever. Man. I was all depressed, and unhappy, and cold and sick.

Then I had a piece of chocolate, and a cup of tea, and it melted away! Chocolate and tea are medicine, I tell ya.

The next time you're feeling down, have some tea and chocolate!

New instrument.

So I'm the lady with the instruments now!

For my birthday (February 4th), I got a keyboard from my mom so that I could practice the pieces that my Vocal Teacher gives me at home. I was very excited about this, because I could finally learn how to play piano!! And stuff. Which is cool.

Then yesterday... because of my need to carry around my guitar now, my aunt got me a case for the guitar (which I didn't have before).. and in that case.. was ANOTHER GUITAR! I still can't believe she got me one! Eep!!!!! AHH! It's a Yamaha, and it's an accoustic, and it's black, and super sexy.

The guitar which I had before was VERY old, and was not working very well. I mean, it went out of tune the second after you tuned it. So obviously it was NEVER in tune, and the strings were very far apart from the actual instrument, so you had to press down quite hard on the strings to play a chord. So my aunt decided that it was better for me to get a new one, and a new case! EEP!

This new sexy one has SUCH a nice sound, and it's very easy to play. I adore it to pieces.

I just sat down to play guitar... (over two hours ago).. and can't stop playing. Man, this is addicting, and incredibly relaxing. I should do this more often. Screw school work, and my scarf that I'm STILL working on for my mom (Gryffindor scarf! Yay!)- it's all about guitar now.

And speaking of music, I started Jazz vocal lessons last Saturday. I really like my teacher! She's awesome. And I've already learned so much, so I know I'm going to learn a lot from her! :D I'm excited.

Check her out! http://www.bonniebrett.com

P.S. I have INSANE calluses on my fingers now. YES! (from playing too much guitar) I'm excited for this.. More playing!

Pouring rain = wetness.

Today, it poured. And when I say poured, I mean it was like a waterfall. And I had to walk through the waterfall to my rehearsal. I got soaked to the knees! And got lost, too, since I couldn't find the freakin' place. It was hiding! So I was looking for it for half an hour before I found it. I was completely drenched, and I was really fucking cold.

But at least we had tea at the rehearsal.

I drank 2 cups.

And that was my day today.

The night before, Piffin and I had a lesbian movie marathon. It was very fun, and will for sure happen again. Everyone should have a lesbian movie marathon! My favourite film from last night was "The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love". Adorable movie. Watch it! The entire line-up was 3 episodes of "The L word", "Gia" (great movie, too), "The incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love", "Lost and Delirious" (which we stopped halfway, because I hate the second half of that movie), "Better than Chocolate" (which SUCKED! So we stopped it after 20 minutes), "When Will I be Loved?" (which also sucked- it had absolutely no plot, and I was so confused in the beginning that we turned it off as well), and an episode of "South of Nowhere". Very good movie night.

And that is all I have to report as of right now.

Today was really great.

I got out of bed really late because my alarm clock has broken and I cannot afford a new one at the moment.

I feel good because today I getting my lip pierced! Finally! Mom said I could and she's signed the forms and EVERYTHING!

I'm so sad. My kitten got run over this afternoon. I found him when I was coming home from school. His head was all squished. I took some photos. I'll miss him. Poor kitty.

Last night I had to shave my entire body. Apparently, the lice that I caught from Amanda's friend are really hard to get rid of. I look quite strange with no hair and eyebrows. I'd post pictures, but my webcam is broken.

I want to tell the world that my girlfriend Amy is the bomb! She made pizza last night, and even though I burnt my lips on the cheese, it was awesome!!!

I am updating this journal for the first time in ages, because I've been in prison.

Today, I got a digital camera! Yes! Here's some photos of my girlfriend in the nude (but don't tell her that I've posted them here - she'll kill me! Har har.)

I want to say thanks to simon and Abbey and Dave and the other Simon for helping me on Saturday. You guys are the best. By the way, if you happen to find my wallet, keys or underwear, could you SMS me? Adrian has my number.

I went to the doctor yesterday, and he said I have a terrible skin disease which prevents me from coming into contact with other human beings. And bipolar disorder.

You should all do this quiz! It's amazingly accurate. You just put in your name and birthday, and it will tell you next week's lottery numbers.

That's enough for now. But I'll leave you with this thought - sharing your life with strangers on the internet is the cheapest form of therapy available. Leave a comment and tell me I'm beautiful.

Some kids are adorable.

When I got off the subway today, there was a kid infront of me who yelled to her mom "SOMEONE TOOK OUR SEAT!" and pointed to the subway car of which she came out of.

Cutest thing ever.

Hi..

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want, either good or bad. I promise not to come after you with a spatula, either way.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your journal and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.

holy crap. I've finally reached my 100th journal entry. YAY!

One of the best nights this year.

Tonight was.. simply spectacular- I can't use just one word to explain it.  It was SO amazing.. I still can't believe it actually happened.
Tonight, we had planned to see Death Cab for Cutie in concert at the Kool house.  It all began at Union station..

I met Ana at Union station at 6:30 so we could all go together to the Kool house to see Death Cab!  We had been planning to see them now for a month and a bit.. but we didn't have any tickets!  Apparently they had sold out in 3 minutes.  So we went to test our luck with Scalpers.   This,  unknown to us at that time, was one of the best ideas ever.  However, we had a huge scare when Ana called Garland, who was supposed to meet us there, and she told us that the scalpers had no tickets!  AHH!  But we went to the Kool house anyway, just to see if we could still get away with seeing the concert.

On our arrival, we noticed an already long line-up, and very many people were asking us if we had tickets.  We did the same; asked people if they had tickets.  The scalpers who we asked did not have any tickets, and one kindly told us that if WE had tickets, he would purchase one for at least $80.  (the original price was $26.50, or something).  We then met up with Garland and her friend, who told us they also had had no luck with our problem.  So we decided to keep walking along the street and asking people if they had any tickets.  No luck.  We returned to the front of the Guvernment (night club beside the Kool house), where there were a bunch of scalpers hanging around.  There, we met a guy who was in the same boat as us.. except he was only looking for one ticket.  So Ray(the guy) decided to join our search, since we had a theory that the bigger our group, the easier it would be to find tickets.
Suddenly, another guy came up to us, and asked us if we were looking for a way into the concert.  (YES!!)  He asked us how much the scalpers were asking for tickets, and we said they were going for $180 now (which they were), and that we only had $40 to spend(which we did).  The nice guy said he had tickets, and that he'd give it to us for FREE!  Holy shit were we happy.  He had exactly 6, and we had 6 people!  I couldn't believe it, and still really can't.  But it happened!  This guy is now the coolest guy in the entire universe!!!!!!!!!!  My hero.  We absolutely freaked, had a huge group hug, and got in line for the show.

However, when we looked at our new free tickets, we noticed they weren't exactly.. regular tickets.  They weren't ticketmaster tickets.  They looked very much like..  fake tickets!  Uh oh.   We were in line with two of Ray's friends.. and we formulated all these ideas on why this random guy (who actually had a Kool House badge on him, so he obviously worked there) would give us these fake tickets.  But we didn't leave the line!  We decided to stay and to see what would happen when we showed these tickets at the entrance.  When we got closer to the entrance, we weren't exactly sure of our plans anymore.  We didn't want to look like idiots!  But then Garland suggested we should stick it out, and be brave.  The worst thing that could happen is that we don't get in!

But we did.  Those tickets were REAL!  We got into Death Cab for Cutie for free.  Man, oh man were we in shock.  But the night got even better!  I was introduced to a band I hadn't heard of before(Youth Group, from Australia), and Death Cab were SO FUCKING AMAZING!   They played mostly old songs (Title and Registration, Lack of Color, and Transatlanticism as an encore piece) and a few from their new album, which came out a few weeks ago.  Holy shit was it awesome.

Absolutely one of the best concerts yet!  I can't wait till they return to Toronto.

Busy day!

As the subject line says, I had a busy day today! Or busier than I thought it was going to be, anyway.
This morning I didn't do much except browse artists at DeviantArt, and write a poem for a poetry contest. I didn't like the poem much, though.
Then my aunt called me and asked if I could help her stamp envelopes! So I went over to my aunts office (5 minutes from my house) and put stamps, addresses, and return addresses on 500 envelopes! Yikes. My arm really hurt after. I did a whole lot of sticking!

So then I went to Rachel's house! I hadn't been there in a long time. I missed it :( I tried to describe my trip to Amsterdam (in detail) to Rachel, but I only got to day 5, and it took me three hours. Although most of that time (95% of it) was spent sidetracking, and having dinner! Which, by the way, was very good (thank you Rachel!).

Afterwards Rachel's dad drove me to the bar (I forgot the name again) where they were doing Karaoke for our last get together night! Karen, Jen and I sang "Leaving on a Jet Plane" and it was very sad. We had a tearful goodbye at Wellesly station, and then I went home! I'll miss them all! But I'll see everyone at Commencement, so that's good! Not too far away. But it'll still be weird not being with them every day in school. Time goes so fast!

Tomorrow I'm going to the ex with Rachel! I can't wait!

The end.

Confused..

How the heck do some poeple update every day? I can't even do it every two days. *blush*... oh well. Props to those who can!

Anywho, I'm back from Amsterdam.. will have a picture post later.. I had a great time!

Tonight I hung out with lots of people; we had a picnic. We went to Eglington Park from 7 until 10:30. It was great fun! We talked, had candy, then had dinner and more candy, and then went searching for a bathroom! This was the picnic to end all the picnincs; the picnic to say goodbye to the old times, and hello to the new.. the second last hangout before everyone leaves for University. We're doing it again tomorrow, except then it's Karaoke style. Hopefully I can persuade Rachel to come with me, so I can go, too! After the picnic we went to Aviva's house, and continued our chat with Aviva playing guitar in the background. It was very relaxing.

I'm eating dinner at Rachel's house tomorrow, and then on Saturday I'm going to the Ex with her. I can't wait!

Picture/Amsterdam post later, when I'm not so jet-lagged. Ew to lack of sleep.
